Burglary & Vehicle Crime Prevention

Burglary & Vehicle Crime Prevention

Dear Resident,

We are asking all residents to remain vigilant within the Leamington Spa North beat area and take a few simple precautions to help reduce the risk of burglary and vehicle crime in our community.

Many offences are committed by opportunistic criminals who take advantage of insecure homes, vehicles, and valuables left on visible display. By taking a few moments to secure your property and target harden, you can significantly reduce the chances of becoming a victim.

Protecting Your Home

Always lock doors and windows, even when you are at home or in the garden.

Keep valuables out of sight from windows.

Use security lighting, CCTV, or video doorbells where possible.

Avoid leaving keys near front doors, windows, or letterboxes.

If you are going away, ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property and consider using timer switches for lights.

Protecting Your Vehicle

Always lock your vehicle and ensure all windows are fully closed.

Remove valuables, bags, tools, and electronic devices from view.

Never leave vehicle keys inside your car or unattended.

Park in well-lit and secure locations whenever possible.

Consider additional security measures such as steering wheel locks, alarms, or tracking devices.

Report Suspicious Activity

We rely on information from our community to help identify offenders and prevent crime. If you see suspicious behaviour, unfamiliar vehicles acting unusually, or anyone trying door handles or vehicle doors, please report it.

Call 999 if a crime is in progress or there is an immediate threat to life.
Call 101 or report online for non-emergency incidents.

Working together, we can help keep our neighbourhoods safe and reduce opportunities for criminals.

Thank you for your continued support.
